Writing Class: Film for Writers (Online)

This may be the easiest and most fun writing class you will ever take:

For prose writers of memoir or fiction of all lengths. You know that reading is one of the best ways to learn how to improve your own writing, but did you know you can work on your craft and eat popcorn at the same time? We’ll watch popular movies and mine them for lessons in structure, efficient delivery of information, characterization, and find places where they fall down. We’ll discuss what we’ve learned and then you’ll complete writing exercises to practice your new skills.

Selected movies will be popular (think Jurassic Park, Back to the Future, or Titanic), likely easy to get from your local library. Expect to spend approximately 2 hours watching a movie each week in addition to class participation and writing exercises.

This is a four-week ONLINE class through Lighthouse Writers Workshop - register here. Space is limited.
